Graduate Program Application Information

The deadline to apply to our graduate programs and be considered for financial support is December 15th. You may apply after this deadline, but may not be considered for financial support.

Two Academic References - Referees will receive an email invitation to complete an online reference once the applicant submits an application.

 

In addition to the application requirements established by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, applicants are required to upload the following:

  • a sample of written work (e.g. a recent research essay)
  • Proposal for Study - maximum two pages. Please use SSHRC guidelines for the outline of your proposal, including the research question, context, objectives, methodology, and (for PhD applicants) the contribution to the advancement of knowledge. Comment on any relevant language study.

These documents must be uploaded to the Student Centre after submitting the online application.

The application (including all transcripts, reference documents, TOEFL, resesarch proposal page, etc) is due December 15th for September admission. A second set of official transcripts should be sent as soon as Fall term grades are available.

If you want to apply for scholarships, please see the Graduate Award Competition. Two of your references for admission may also be used for scholarship. Scholarship Applications are due on January 16th.
